For each drilling rig, there should be a package of drilling rig solids control system. And GN Solids Control has a long history of experience for providing a turnkey solution and manufacturing such solids control systems.

In a recent project, GN Solids Control has designed a package of solids control equipment to a client from South America and this client totally purchased 3 sets of same package for 3 rigs.

This purchase includes following equipment:

1. Drilling fluids shale shaker GNZS594J, 12 sets. Those shale shakers are evenly distributed to 3 rigs, and they can serve for a large capacity. Shale shakers are the first step separation in a solids control system. They receive drilling fluids from the well mouth through a mud distributing box. Shale shakers take the largest burden for removing the drilling cuttings from the mud. One GNZS594J has 4 pieces of shaker screens and a screen area of 2.73 square meters. It can reach a capacity of 140 cbm/hr.

2. Mud cleaner GNZJ594J-3S16N. A mud cleaner is the combination of the 2nd and 3rd separation steps, involving desander cones and desilter cones, sharing one underflow shaker. This mud cleaner’s underflow shaker is a GNZS594 shale shaker, with 4 pieces of shaker screens. It has 3 nos of desander cones and 16 nos of desilter cones. There are 2 centrifugal pumps for feeding the desaner cones and desilter cones respectively.

3. Centrifugal pumps. So for the 3 solids control equipment package, GN Solids Control prepared 6 sets of centrifugal pumps for feeding the 3 sets of mud cleaners.

Besides above mentioned equipment, for those 3 solids control packages, the client also purchased totally 6 sets of decanter centrifuges. The decanter centrifuges are used for fine particles separation. 3 middle speed ones are used for separating out the particles from 5 to 7 microns, for barite recovery. And the 3 high speed ones are used for removal of particles from 2 to 5 microns. And the centrifuges feeding pumps are provided by GN also.
