GN Solids Control just finished the fabrication of a mud solids control system, and this time, this system is not for a oil and gas drilling rig, instead, it is for a CBM Drilling rig for the coal development industry.

Like all the drillings, in order to treat the drilling mud by removing as much as drilling cuttings, there are several steps needed:

1. Shale shaker. By using 2 sets of vibrating motors, the shale shaker can use proper sized screen meshes to move out all particles bigger than the mesh size. The shaker shakers take heaviest burden of separation and remove the most particles. For this system there are two sets of shale shakers with model GNZS703. This shaker has 3 pieces of shaker screens with screen area of 2.63m2.

2. Desanding cones. Desanding cones are cyclones of 10 inch dimeter, which are used for separation of particles of 40 microns. GN desanding cones are made of polyurethane in inside and covered by steel plate. The polyurethane inner wall has longer service life.

3. Desilter cones. Desilter cones are located after the desanding cones. They are polyureathan cyclones of 4 inch diameter. The cutting point of 4 inch cyclones are 20 microns.

4. Mud mixing hoppers. The mud mixing hoppers are used for jetting in the necessary material into the clean mud.

5. Centrifugal pumps. There are 3 centrifugal pumps in this system, in order to serve 3 equipment, the desander cones, desilter cones and mud hopper. The desander cones and desilter cones both need centrifugal pumps for feeding.

This complete system including mud tanks will be put into use within this year in China. If you have similar project or need more information, welcome to contact GN directly.
