The oily sludge treatment is one of GN’s core solutions in recent years. For one thing, it is a trend that the oily sludge should be well treated before discharged to the environment. For the other, GN Solids Control’s solutions were well proved to be successful and helpful for those projects.

This recent project for an environment solution company including following equipment, as is shown in picture below:

1. A decanter centrifuge GNLW554ET-VFD for the fine particles separation. A high speed decanter centrifuge is used to treat out particles from 2 to 5 microns. The centrifuge bowl length-diameter ratio affect the route of material inside the decanter centrifuge, and GNLW554ET centrifuge is designed for the oily sludge treatment, cause the particles in oily sludge are normally even smaller than the drilling fluids and always have higher viscosity. A VFD control panel enables the centrifuge to achieve different speeds in different conditions.

2. A disc stack for 3 phase separation, the model is GNSD-125. The 3 phase means the oil, water and solids particles. It is the final step in an oily sludge treatment system, which can separate the 3 components thoroughly.

Those 2 main equipment are designed respectively on their skids and equipped by each feeding pump.

GN Solids Control is flexible in designing such solutions. Based on given information about the material and the jobsite, there could be a shale shaker or drying shaker before the centrifuge. Shaker’s main function is to remove the large particles and to reduce the burden onto centrifuge. In order to break the adhesive between the oil and solids, or to flocculate the extra fine particles into larger ones for the centrifuge, there could be a chemical dosing system in between the separation systems. All are based on clients’ request and material condition.
