Weeks ago, GN Solids Control has finished the fabrication of a large slurry separation plant with a big treating capacity up to 360cbm per hour to a pipe jacking engineering company. This is a compact slurry plant which is popular not only in pipe jacking, but also quite professional for Tunnel Bored Machine projects.

The whole system contains 3 steps for separation, the shale shaker, the desanding cones and desilter cones. All three steps are located on a same skid for easy transportation and small foot print. In details, this slurry separation plant has:

1. Shale shaker. Shale shaker is the first step for separation, always, for construction or TBM works, the first shaker is equipped by coarse screens in order to remove the large particles like stones and some trash. Sometimes there is a double deck shaker, on upper deck there are coarse screens while on lower deck there are finer screens.

GN Solids Control has different shaker screen models for option, including mini shaker with 2 pieces of screens, a shale shaker with 3 pieces of screens and also 4 pieces of screens, and even a double deck shaker GNZS706.

2. Desanding cones, desanding cones are also called desanding cyclones, they are of various diameters, 10 inch, 12 inch ,14 inch and 16 inch. The most commonly used size is 10 inch, with cutting point as 40 microns. It is the 2nd step separation.

3. Desilter cones, desilter cones are the 3rd step separation, mostly used model is 4 inch one, with cutting point as 20 microns. In this slurry plant, there are 16 nos of desilter cyclones. Both desanding and desilter are equipped by a drying shaker on below.

4. Slurry pumps, for the desanding and desilter cones, there are 2 slurry pumps with 75kw motors for feeding.
